Scenes from the banks of the Loire.

To me, the Loire Valley is quintessential French countryside. It has cobblestoned streets, buildings covered in vines and other creeping flowering plants, lively village markets, and oh the wine. On Sunday we strolled around an island in the middle of the Loire River called Béhuard, which had French charm in spades.

Come and join me on our stroll.

The “main street” in the village.

The exterior and interior of the church that was built into the side of a huge rock.

View from the cafe where we had a refreshing afternoon drink.

A few of the village homes.

Haystacks in the field.
